What We Believe

• We believe there is only one God, the Creator and Ruler of the universe, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• Matthew 28:19-20  "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
• 2 Corinthians 13:13  "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you."

• We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ took the form of man, died on a cross, buried and raised on the third day to a place of exaltation.
• Acts 2:32-36   "This Jesus God raised up, and of that all of us are witnesses. Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you both see and hear. For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.’ Therefore let the entire house of Israel know with certainty that God has made him both Lord and Messiah, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

• Philippians 2:6-11  "who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form,8he humbled himself
  and became obedient to the point of death—even death on a cross. Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

• We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who lives within, guides and empowers believers of Jesus Christ to live as His disciples. 
• John 14:16-17, 23  "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever; the Helper is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you. Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will follow My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling with him."
• John 16:7-16  "But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you, but if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong concerning sin and righteousness and judgment – concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will see me no longer; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been condemned. I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. For he will not speak on his own authority, but will speak whatever he hears, and will tell you what is to come. He will glorify me, because he will receive from me what is mine and will tell it to you. Everything that the Father has is mine; that is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what is mine and will tell it to you. In a little while you will see me no longer; again after a little while, you will see me.”
• Ephesians 1:13-14  "In him you also, when you had heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and had believed in him, were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit; this is the pledge of our inheritance toward redemption as God’s own people, to the praise of his glory."

• We believe that Christ’s life, death and resurrection marks the beginning of God’s invitation to all people in the world to believe in Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God, where God the Yahweh in Christ Jesus is constantly in action, acting in love, and Jesus Christ is now the anointed King and Lord, reigning over all nations.  It is also an invitation to walk in union with God’s ways of living and acting.
• Matthew 4:17  "From that time Jesus began to proclaim, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
• Matthew 6:33  "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need."
• John 14:21  "The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will reveal Myself to him.”

• We believe disciples of Jesus Christ is the Church, the visible manifestation of the Body of Christ in the local community expressing itself through local congregations.
• 1 Corinthians 12:12–27  "For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.  Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot would say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear would say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many members, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, the members of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and those members of the body that we think less honorable we clothe with greater honor, and our less respectable members are treated with greater respect; whereas our more respectable members do not need this. But God has so arranged the body, giving the greater honor to the inferior member, that there may be no dissension within the body, but the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.
• John 17:20-23  “I ask not only on behalf of these, but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given them, so that they may be one, as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become completely one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me."

• We believe the Bible is our major and authentic source of information because it contains, in the New Testament, a collection of writings from the first hundred years of Christianity. It defines the Truine God, especially in the New Testament, and helps us become part of God’s loving in this world.
• Proverbs 8:17  "I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me."
• John 17:3  "And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent."
• John 15:12  “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."
